The 34th G8 summit which took place in Tokyo on the northern Island of Hokkaido, Japan, in July brought together heads of the world's most wealthiest and most industrialized countries such as France, Germany, Italy, Japan, UK, USA, Canada and Russia. Forming part of a bespoke and integrated software and audio-visual communication and interpretation system, JVC's TK-C686E PTZ security dome cameras were responsible for the core monitoring of talks between G8 representatives.

  In this application, the TK-C686E PTZ dome cameras used a reverse monitoring mode and were positioned upside down and in full view of delegate’s faces. The cameras use a 36x zoom, and quick, silent and accurate direct drive motor allowing the cameras to pan and zoom in on delegates during talks and produced high-quality and outstanding resolution images for translation and communication interpretation. “We're justifiably proud that our top-of-the-range PTZ dome CCTV cameras have been used in this unique way. WHAT IT DOES:

PowerFence™ systems deter and detect attack. Attack is deterred through sending a regulated electric pulse around the PowerFence™ approximately every second. These pulses give a short, but safe shock, making it impossible to climb the fence. The fence also detects attack, differentiating between serious breaches of the fence and disturbances caused by wildlife, birds or weather conditions.

 

FEATURES:

 

The Powerfence system provides:

· DETERENCE – Through signs, the physical barrier created and the electrification of the wires.

· DETECTION – System will detect attempts at intrusion while intelligently reducing false alarms. It can be attached to a siren, tied into your alarm system, monitoring service or with an autodialler, contact any number upon alarm. The fence wires are also made to break away when there is more than 35 pounds of pressure. This will immediately alarm as a breach.

· ZONING – The basic system has one zone, this can be expanded to multiple zones (48) for larger facilities. Zoning allows better identification of where a breach has occurred. Also individual zones may be turned on or off at different times allowing better control of access and public areas.

· DETECT ONLY – If there are areas that for public safety reasons etc cannot be energized, they can be set as detect only. The wires will still be there but current will not run through them however they will alert when there is an attempt to breach.

· LOCAL AND ONLINE MONITORING – Through the use of software, the controller can be tied into the CARDAX Access Control system. From a single monitoring station, an entire facility can be observed and alerts will indicate directly which zone has been tampered.

· UPGRADES – The system can easily be upgrade to include any or all of the features identified. In addition, with the CARDAX software, Access control is already included to manage door entry throughout a facility through the use of proximity cards and wired or wireless locks.
